How it all started

Long before the world-wide success of the single “Saltwater” in 1991 and before ‘Inconvenient Truth’ was even a sparkle in Al Gore’s eye, Julian Lennon cared deeply about our planet and he continues to do so.

Julian has been focusing on ways that we can all make a difference in what has become a rather sensitively-balanced world.

Symbolically, a white feather has personal meaning for Julian and therefore it became a natural name for his new foundation — The White Feather Foundation.

“Dad once said to me that should he pass away, if there was some way of letting me know he was going to be ok - that we were all going to be ok - the message would come to me in the form of a white feather.

Then something happened to me about ten years ago when I was on tour in Australia. I was presented with a white feather by an Aboriginal tribal elder, which definitely took my breath away. One thing for sure is that the white feather has always represented peace to me.”
